The 15-year-old son of a Harris County Deputy Constable shot one of two burglars with his father's automatic rifle after they entered his home Tuesday.
It was a move that his Aunt Eva describes as an attempt by the boy to protect his 12-year-old little sister, because they were alone in the house together.
"He was protecting his sister; he was protecting his home... He has a good head on his shoulders."
The intruder who was shot was taken to Memorial Hermann where his condition is unknown while the man’s accomplice was taken into custody. Both men are due to face burglary charges.
