Faisal Shahzad, Jihadi, Explains Terrorism

Jaw-dropping court testimony by Faisal Shahzad, the would-be Times Square bomber, singlehandedly undermines Obama administration efforts to ignore the dangers of Islamism and jihad.

Shahzad's forthright statement of purpose stands out because jihadis, when facing legal charges, typically save their skin by pleading not guilty or plea bargaining. Consider a few examples:

* Naveed Haq, who assaulted the Jewish Federation building in Seattle, pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity.
* Lee Malvo, one of the Beltway Snipers, explained that "one reason for the shootings was that white people had tried to harm Louis Farrakhan." His partner John Allen Muhammad claimed his innocence to the death chamber.
* Hasan Akbar killed two fellow American soldiers as they slept in a military compound, then told the court ""I want to apologize for the attack that occurred. I felt that my life was in jeopardy, and I had no other options. I also want to ask you for forgiveness."
* Mohammed Taheri-azar, who tried to kill students on the University of North Carolina by running over them in a car and issued a series of jihadi rants against the United States, later experienced a change of heart, announced himself "very sorry" for the crimes he committed, and asked for release so that he can "re-establish myself as a good, caring and productive member of society" in California.

These efforts fit a broader pattern of Islamist mendacity; rarely does a jihadi stand on principle. Zacarias Moussaoui, 9/11's would-be twentieth hijacker, came close: his court proceedings began with his refusing to enter a plea (which the presiding judge translated into "not guilty") and then, one fine day, pleading guilty to all charges.

Shahzad, 30, acted in an exceptional manner during his appearance in a New York City federal court on June 21. His answers to Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum's many inquisitive questions ("And where was the bomb?" "What did you do with the gun?") offered a dizzying mix of deference and contempt. On the one hand, he politely, calmly, patiently, fully, and informatively answered about his actions. On the other, he in the same voice justified his attempt at cold-blooded mass murder.

The judge asked Shahzad after he announced an intent to plead guilty to all ten counts of his indictment, "Why do you want to plead guilty?" a reasonable question given the near certainty that guilty pleas will keep him in for long years in jail. He replied:

I want to plead guilty and I'm going to plead guilty a hundred times forward because – until the hour the U.S. pulls it forces from Iraq and Afghanistan and stops the drone strikes in Somalia and Yemen and in Pakistan and stops the occupation of Muslim lands and stops killing the Muslims and stops reporting the Muslims to its government – we will be attacking [the] U.S., and I plead guilty to that.

Shahzad insisted on portraying himself as replying to American actions: "I am part of the answer to the U.S. terrorizing [of] the Muslim nations and the Muslim people, and on behalf of that, I'm avenging the attacks," adding that "We Muslims are one community." Nor was that all; he flatly asserted that his goal had been to damage buildings and "injure people or kill people" because "one has to understand where I'm coming from, because … I consider myself a mujahid, a Muslim soldier."

When Cedarbaum pointed out that pedestrians in Times Square during the early evening of May first were not attacking Muslims, Shahzad replied: "Well, the [American] people select the government. We consider them all the same." His comment reflects not just that American citizens are responsible for their democratically elected government but also the Islamist view that, by definition, infidels cannot be innocents.

However abhorrent, this tirade does have the virtue of truthfulness. Shahzad's willingness to name his Islamic purposes and spend long years in jail for them flies in the face of Obama administration efforts not to name Islamism as the enemy, preferring such lame formulations as "overseas contingency operations" and "man-caused disasters."

Americans – as well as Westerners generally, all non-Muslims, and anti-Islamist Muslims – should listen to the bald declaration by Faisal Shahzad and accept the painful fact that Islamist anger and aspirations truly do motivate their terrorist enemies. Ignoring this fact will not make it disappear.

Iraq war unlawful

The invasion of Iraq was unlawful. 1441 did not revive earlier resolutions in this case as Saddam had disarmed and UK security services knew that for a fact at the time.

And there you have it:Government.

In the beginning there was no government. There was just groups of people who basically got on with each other and traded the things they had with others for the things they needed. It was a good system until one day a gang came along and robbed some of them. So they got together and decided that instead of getting killed or injured they would pay the gang. The gang thought this was a very good deal as now they did not have to do anything at all. They just ate ,drank and made merry. As time went by and there was more people they would go out and kill a few until they got the same deal. But one day a new gang came into the area and wanted the same deal. Now this caused a problem as the first gang had took their share and all they had left was what they needed. But the gang gave them the choice of living a bit longer with out their stuff or dying now and losing it anyway, it was no choice at all.
Then one of the group said "I know let us go to the first gang and offer them more to kill the second gang."But what will we give them?"said someone. We will tell them the stuff the second gang took was for them. They all agreed to do this and the leader went off to see the first gang.
The first gang were furious the stuff saved for them had been stolen by the second gang and they went after them straight away. Both sides lost a few men and many got injured. Then they decided to call a truce and talk."Look there's a lot of groups around now to go around".Said the leader."Agreed" Said the second leader.
So they decided that they would divide the spoils. This went on for many years until every one in the first gang became fat and lazy. The second leader said "So are the people. They have no worries with us looking out for them".So if we call ourselves the blue gang, no lets change gang to society, the blue society and the red society. We can take turns of running the show, take as much as we like for each other. Then swap around in say four years. Much nodding and agreeing followed this statement.
So the next week the first election was held for the blues and the Reds.
it had been agreed before hand that the blue gang, society.would offer the best deal and consequently they got elected. The people were happy they now had an honest government. The Red gang were happy to laze about for four years and the Blue gang helped themselves to as much as they could get away with.

Contaminated prime real estate

Government documents obtained by The Associated Press show extensive efforts since 2000 to remove vast amounts of waste and contaminants from Plum Island. The 840-acre island — located 100 miles east of Manhattan — was the site of top-secret Army germ warfare research and decades of studies of dangerous animal diseases.

Some environmentalists remain concerned about the secrecy surrounding the island — and they're dubious of any claims that pollution has been remedied.

The Department of Homeland Security is preparing to sell the island and build a new high-security laboratory in Kansas to study animal diseases.

The documents reveal that hundreds of tons of medical waste, contaminated soil and other refuse have been shipped off the island for disposal.

10 year stand off with cops

GUN BARREL CITY, Texas (AP) — The past decade has taken a toll on John Joe Gray, holed up on his rural East Texas land while waiting for a siege that's never happened.

He's been living on 47 acres behind a fence without running water and electricity but with plenty of guns, daring authorities to arrest him for a 10-year-old, third-degree felony warrant. He says he hasn't left his property since 2000, all the while allowing his distrust of a government he views as evil to fester.

The handmade warning signs have faded and the hordes of fellow militia members have long since gone, leaving behind only Gray and some relatives — he won't say how many — on the tree-shaded property along a river in rural Henderson County, about 50 miles southeast of Dallas. They grow their own food and live in a shack and trailer — always wearing holsters with weapons. They don't guard the entrance anymore.

Gray is thin and pale with a long, graying beard flowing down from his gaunt face — almost unrecognizable from photos taken in 2000 showing his short, dark hair and a mustache.

"I'll never leave," Gray told The Associated Press recently, wearing a holster that sheathed a knife on one side and gun on the other. "I don't feel like a prisoner ... because I'm living out here and following God's laws."

Gray, now in his early 60s, had worked in construction and led a Texas militia group that often trained on the isolated property where he lived for about 15 years before the so-called standoff.

In late 1999 Gray was in a car pulled over for speeding in nearby Anderson County. State troopers saw high-powered rifles and anti-government materials in the car, but Gray refused to get out. When the troopers tried to remove him from the car, he allegedly bit one trooper's hand and tried to grab his gun.

Abbas to meet with Israelis if talks work

RAMALLAH - Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas said Saturday he would hold direct negotiations with Israel if there was progress in US-led indirect talks in the coming months.

He appeared to ease up on previous demands for a complete halt to the construction of Jewish settlements before the relaunching of direct peace talks last suspended during the 2008-2009 Gaza war.

"Our basic condition has been that there should be a complete halt to settlements, and that is why we went to indirect negotiations," Abbas told reporters in Ramallah.

Dr David Kelly: The damning new evidence

The official story of Dr David Kelly is that he took his own life in an Oxfordshire wood by overdosing on painkillers and cutting his left wrist with a pruning knife.

He was said to be devastated after being unmasked as the source of the BBC’s claim that the Government had ‘sexed up’ the case for war in Iraq.

A subsequent official inquiry led by Lord Hutton into the circumstances leading to the death came to the unequivocal conclusion that Kelly committed suicide.

Yet suspicions of foul play still hang heavy over the death of the weapons expert whose body was found seven years ago next month in one of the most notorious episodes of Tony Blair’s premiership.

Suspicion and paranoia.

Most conspiracy theories start in the USA. The UK has a few but not like America. They have an underlying penchant for believing in extreme views. For all of it's advanced technology the US population is poorly educated in facts. The reality of belief in America is based more on religion. But what keeps a conspiracy going even after it's been proved rubbish? Well a lot of people in America are cunning and use the simplistic belief of the population to make money from them, and it plays a large part in the US economy. But there is also the fact that since the dawn of the democratic way not much of it has helped the population. So why should they believe their leaders? A civilisation rises on the beliefs of it's members. United in their positive belief of the system makes it grow. but it can only grow so much and like all past civilisation crumbles. Once the population start to become suspicious of the leaders there is no going back. Every thing done to appease suspicion is seen as suspicious. Take a look at the following video.

Poland’s troops out of Afghanistan in 2012

WARSAW, Poland — Poland’s interim president said Tuesday he will end his country’s military mission in Afghanistan in 2012, if he wins next month’s runoff election.

Bronislaw Komorowski said he would start scaling back Poland’s force of some 2,600 troops in Afghanistan in 2011, and end the mission the following year. He said his plan would echo that of the Obama administration, which wants to start bringing U.S. troops home in July 2011.

Milk is oil

The Eu will probably follow on this.
GRAND RAPIDS -- Having watched the oil gushing in the Gulf of Mexico, dairy farmer Frank Konkel has a hard time seeing how spilled milk can be labeled the same kind of environmental hazard.

But the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is classifying milk as oil because it contains a percentage of animal fat, which is a non-petroleum oil.

The Hesperia farmer and others would be required to develop and implement spill prevention plans for milk storage tanks. The rules are set to take effect in November, though that date might be pushed back.

"That could get expensive quickly," Konkel said. "We have a serious problem in the Gulf. Milk is a wholesome product that does not equate to spilling oil."

But last week environmentalists disagreed at a Senate committee hearing on a resolution from Sen. Wayne Kuipers, R-Holland, calling for the EPA to rescind its ruling.

"The federal Clean Water Act requirements were meant to protect the environment from petroleum-based oils, not milk," he said. "I think it is an example of federal government gone amuck."

But Gayle Miller, legislative director of Sierra Club Michigan Chapter, said agricultural pollution probably is the nation's most severe chronic problem when it comes to water pollution.

"Milk is wholesome in a child's body. It is devastating in a waterway," Miller said. "The fact that it's biodegradable is irrelevant if people die as a result of cryptosporidium, beaches close for E. coli and fish are killed."

Miller said "big agriculture" is constantly trying to be exempted from environmental regulations at the state and federal level. She was disappointed to learn the EPA told The Press it "expects shortly to issue a notice to extend the date for milk storage tanks to comply with SPCC (Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure) regulations."

Also, the International Dairy Foods Association said it has learned the EPA will exempt the industry from the rule.

But state lawmakers say they won't let up until that is official.

Just how much oil is there?

The way Obama and the US media have acted you would think the whole of the Gulf coast was black with sticky oil. But the reality is the oil is only coming ashore in patches. And it's not like it's a miles wide continuous sticky slick. Most of it is small lumps called tar balls.

Petraeus Changes Rules of Engagement

A military source close to Gen. David Petraeus has said that one of the first things the general will do when he takes over in Afghanistan is to modify the rules to make it easier for U.S. troops to engage in combat with the enemy.Troops on the ground and some military commanders have said the rules aimed at preventing civilian casualties have effectively forced the troops to fight with one hand tied behind their backs.

Bop Tilting

Since one of the unmanned robots knocked the cap of the BP oil well the bop has started to lean.BP are measuring a tilt in the 40-ton blowout preventer stack with a level and a device called an inclinometer.Oil industry expert Rob Cavner says that he wouldn't be surprised if the leaning and damaged BOP ended up falling over entirely. If this happens then everything down there is coming up.And there's nothing anybody can do to stop it.
